Activities

Nine Arches Bridge
Also known as the Bridge in the Sky, the Nine Arches Bridge is an architectural wonder and is one of the best examples of colonial-era railway construction in the country. The lush green backdrop through which its built makes it a breathtaking sight.

Ravana Falls
This scenic waterfall is one of the widest in the country. It derives its name from a legendary king, Ravana, who is said to have kidnapped an Indian princess Sita and kidnapped her in the caves behind this waterfall. Today, it’s just a beautiful sight to enjoy during your trip in Ella!

Ella Rock
About 5 kilometres from Ella Town, this is a challenging, fun and yet rewarding hike to embark on, best done with a guide. Start from the railway station and make your way through tea plantations, off beaten paths and make your way to one of the best views in Sri Lanka. We recommend starting early because the midday sun can be pretty unforgiving.

Little Adam’s Peak
This is a pretty easy and straightforward hike, which you can embark on all by yourself, with the path starting next to the 98 Acres Resort. Once again, you’ll trek through brilliant green tea plantations and in two to three hours, find yourself at the top. Best option if you’re short of time - a meal at 98 Acres on your way down makes the perfect end to this picturesque trek.
Flying Ravana
An unexpected but thrilling way of enjoying Ella - this is Sri Lanka’s first-ever mega dual zip-line. Flying Ravana is Sri Lanka’s first-ever zip-line, located amidst the luscious green estates of Ella. The two-wire zip-line stretches for more than half a kilometre, slides at 80kmph and offers a bird’s-eye view of the beautiful hills of the island. More info
